My professional fees are $90
per session. A session lasts between 1 - 1 1/2 hours (the normal length
of an EMDR session is 1 1/2 hours). These fees are about half of that
recommended by the BC Psychological Association, which encourages psychologists
[in 2006] to charge $150 per hour.
The services that I provide are of the highest professional and ethical quality. They are less expensive than recommended because:
· I have a rural practice in Coombs
· I mostly work from my home office in Coombs, and I do not have a lot of overhead costs
· This fee level covers what I need as a semi-retired professional
· As a practicing Buddhist who enjoys his work, I am content to charge what I need, not what I can
You are not charged for the time after your session in which I think about your issues, summarize your session notes and prepare a treatment plan going forward, nor for the time I take to review your notes before you arrive at your next session. Because my fees are already generously low, I will ask you to respect the time limits on your session. If it runs past 1 1/2 hours, I will charge a prorated fee for the extra time.
